Privacy & Cookie Policy

Michelle Beeckman handles your data with care. Below you can read what we collect, why, and which rights you have.

Who we are

This website is operated by Michelle Beeckman VOF (VAT BE 0660.886.239), Posteernestraat 17 C, 9000 Ghent, Belgium. For privacy questions, contact michelle@michellebeeckman.com.

What we collect

Through the contact form: your name, email address, subject, project type (optional) and your message. If you contact us directly by email, phone, WhatsApp or Instagram, we process the details you share. If you have a student account for the course area: your name, email address and login details, plus which course materials you access.

Why we use it

To answer your enquiry, prepare and carry out bookings and services, manage student accounts and course access, and invoice you. The legal basis is the performance of the agreement, or our legitimate interest in responding to your question. We never send unsolicited newsletters and never sell your data.

Student area and course materials

Student accounts are managed through Supabase, our authentication provider. Course documents you download are personalised with a watermark containing your account details. We do this to protect the course materials against redistribution; the legal basis is our legitimate interest.

Cookieless statistics

We measure site traffic with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that we host ourselves. It sets no cookies and collects no personal data: visits are anonymous and cannot be traced back to you.

Functional cookies and spam protection

The member area uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in; these require no consent and are not used for tracking. The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may process technical data such as your IP address to distinguish people from bots.

Advertising cookies — only with your consent

When we run advertising campaigns, we first ask your consent through the cookie banner before loading measurement scripts from Google (Google Ads) or Meta (Facebook/Instagram). These scripts may set cookies to measure whether an ad led to an enquiry or booking. If you decline, nothing from these parties is loaded. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of the site.

How long we keep data

Enquiries and correspondence are kept for at most two years after the last contact. Invoicing data is kept for seven years, as legally required. Student accounts are kept for as long as your course access runs and are deleted on request.

Who we share data with

Only with service providers needed to run the site and our services: hosting, email delivery, authentication (Supabase) and spam protection (Cloudflare). They process your data solely on our behalf and for no other purpose.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict, object to and port your data. Email michelle@michellebeeckman.com to exercise these rights. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
